Script for Trailer

Rani: Hi I'm Rani. I'm 15 years old and I live in England. I'm not your average schoolgirl though and I never have been. But you'll find out why soon. I've just found two special friends. Vaux and his cousin Peuge said that they came from a planet called Vi-ackle by accident via a teleport machine built by their granddad. I feel like I can trust them, as they seem to know my troubles. By the way, Vaux has a twin brother named Hal, which is interesting as I love twins, and it's great to know that it's not just an Earth thing! Also he told me that there's someone called Mondi who bugs him a lot. Hmmm, something going on there I think (giggles). But they mentioned someone else called Volco and he definitely sounds dangerous considering he was banished. But even so I have a feeling our paths may cross. Plus, I'm fascinated by their glowing hands! I wonder if they have more powers for me to discover. Well, it sounds like there's an adventure waiting for me. Why don't you join me and we'll have fun exploring with the Vi-acklings from Vi-ackle.

Peuge: Rani!

Rani: Coming!

Script for Episode 1

Prologue

Setting: Planet Vi-ackle from space.

Gradual zoom in until land is seen.

Narrative: VI-ACKLE... Situated in a galaxy over a million lightyears away from the Milky Way. The planet may seem like our dear planet Earth but it's smaller and the lands are all made to look like circles and ovals merged together with time.
It is home to a number of new species but the main species are the Vi-acklings who are named after the planet.
Vi-ackle has countries just like Earth, but they are formed in equal sized squares.

Setting: Different places on Planet Vi-ackle.

City buildings and houses on Planet Vi-ackle.

Narrative: The buildings may seem like ours but the corners are rounded and their windows are all mainly round or oval.
The houses and most buildings are once again all grouped together in equal sized blocks with the roads in between.

Public area with Vi-ackling folks.

Narrative: Vi-acklings come in all different shapes and sizes and they all come in hundreds of different colours.
Each Vi-ackling is an individual and have their own abilities but are categorised in groups with those who have similar attributes.
To name a few...

A Maroon Vi-ackling Maiden getting up and going out with clock in the background, few minutes  difference between them.

Narrative: “Swift Doers” literally do everything very quickly without any problems. For example they would get up and get ready for the day in just under 5minutes! But of course, each Swift Doer has their own pace in doing things and they can slow down if they wanted to.

Couple of Green Vi-acklings drinking from fast food like cups and cans.

Narrative: The “Guzzlers” drink almost all day as they use a lot of their energy just to do what they call normal activities. They can appear aggresive or frustrated about losing their energy every so often, but they mean no harm.

A Pink Vi-ackling smiling...

Narrative: And the “Easy Goers” literally tackle anything in a calm manner. They do have emotions, but it is seldom that they ever show them to others.
Ok, so you may think they aren’t any different from us. But here are the cool stuff that Vi-acklings have that we don’t.

Close up of activated ear.

Narrative: They have super hearing which flares up when things important, yet from afar are heard.

Two Vi-acklings with their eyes literally glowing in the dark.

Narrative: And yep, their eyes glow in the dark too! Cool huh?
Another interesting thing...

Close up of a vi-ackling’s right hand with an imprint in the middle of palm.
Scared vi-acking with arm stretched towards camera and imprint on hand glowing.

Narrative: Vi-acklings all have a mark on their right palm.
Each group of Vi-acklings have a different imprint, but they all do the same thing... Every time a Vi-ackling is in danger, the imprint glows and it’s when they stretch out their glowing hand that a "Defence Field" is formed to prevent the villains from harming them.

Green Alien on the floor with glowing arm stretched. A ‘Defence Field’ formed around him.
Brown Alien standing surprised and helpless.

Narrative: However, this hasn’t been happening since a new act came in.

President of a city in Planet Vi-ackle talking to the nation.

President: Whoever does serious damage to anything or anyone on planet Vi-ackle shall be BANISHED!

Narrative: Now, there is a new problem, as the power of the imprints are dying down and something has to be done.

A couple of worried Vi-ackling Maidens looking at their fading imprints on hand.

Narrative: Luckily, one Scientist believes that he has the answer.
And this is where the story begins...
Oh, and they can run as fast as a car can go!

Green Alien running at top speed.

Chapter 1

Setting: On Planet Vi-ackle. Late afternoon. Corner shop called ‘The Corner’.

Narrative: It’s late afternoon, and when you think all is going well...

Sound of tins, boxes and bottles are heard with Tinkle-tankle and Rumble-rumble.

Female Vi-ackling (in shop): AARRGGHH!!

Vaux (in shop): Sorry!

Male Vi-ackling (in shop): HEY, WATCH WHERE YOU’RE GOING!

Vaux (Green alien) gets kicked out of the shop by Shop Assistant for seemingly being mischievous.

Shop Assistant: GET OUT!!Vaux (to Shop Assistant who is off screen): Yeah, well good day to you too!

Peuge (Pink alien) comes walking by.

Peuge: Causing trouble again, cous?

Vaux (starts to walk with his cousin): Ah! That guy needs to get his eyes and ears tested.

Peuge: Does he? Or do you need your head checked?

Vaux: His eyes and ears, definitely!

Peuge laughs.

Vaux: I mean it's not my fault, the stack of tins fell rolling down on the floor and ran every vi-ackling folk over! All I wanted was to buy a drink. I’m so thirsty!

Peuge (laughing): Come on Vaux, it's not like you never did that before.

Vaux: Trust me, Peuge, it wasn't me this time. Mondi pushed me and I lost control!

Peuge: Is she bugging you again?

Vaux (sighs): Yeah, you bet! That vi-ackling maiden is killing me!

Peuge: Well, at least she isn’t Volco.

Vaux: Yeah, I guess so. Good riddance he’s banished after all the problems HE caused!

Mondi (Maroon alien) comes out of the corner shop with her friends.

Mondi (calling from behind) Oh Vaux! Better luck next time, yeah? Shame you don’t have any muscles, cos you could've swung the shop keeper out instead!

Vaux and Peuge stops and turns as Mondie and her friends laugh as they walked way.

Mondi: Bye Vaux!

Vaux blushes with anger.

Vaux (shouting at the girls and waving his arms about): Yeah, well if I had muscles I would've swung you out too!

Peuge (calming his cousin down): Come on, Vaux, let's take you home.

Peuge and Vaux continue walking home.

Vaux: I wish her type could slow down! They do things so fast and without any sign of a glitch!

Peuge: Well, try not to think about it anymore, ok?

Vaux: I wonder if Granddad has finished building that new teleport machine.

Peuge: Maybe he has. He’s been working on it for months and he was almost finished the last time I saw him.

Closed eyes of Volco flash on screen before coming back to Peuge and Vaux walking into the distance.

Vaux: I just can’t wait to get off this planet!

Peuge laughs.

Chapter 2

Setting: Garage in front of house with door open.

Hal: Looking good Granddad! Is it almost finished?
Hal (twin brother of Vaux) leans against wall while drinking from a fast food cup, watches his Granddad do some work on his new invention. A teleport machine that can be used to go from one planet to the next. It is like a two-seater with buttons on the arms and a semi-circle radar at the back.

Granddad (working at the back of the machine): Yes, Hal, just a few more adjustments, and then she’s all ready to use!

Hal: Cool!

Granddad (gets up with a grin): (sighs) Right, looks like this baby is ready to go! Want a demo?

Hal (moving away from the wall, excited): Awesome! Yeah!

Hal finishes his drink and throws the cup away. He steps closer to the machine to take a better look as Granddad starts to demonstrate on how to use the machine.

Granddad (sits down in the machine and pats on the seat next to him): Right, sit down here, my boy.

Hal sits down.
Granddad presses a red button to switch the machine on.

Granddad: Now, pay attention. This is very serious stuff.

Hal watches as Granddad demonstrates. He points to a screen on the arm.

Granddad: This is where you put your destination. It can be anywhere breathable.

Granddad presses a yellow button next to the red button and a keyboard slides out from the arm. Granddad types in ‘Earth’. Presses the yellow button again and keyboard slides back in.

Granddad (Pointing at a green button): Then press this and it will take you to the destination.

Hal (rubbing hands): That is pretty neat!

Granddad: But that’s not all. This is where our imprint comes in handy.

Hal: Like how?

Granddad: You don’t want others to notice the machine, so you just have to somehow signal to your hand and make it only visible to you.

Hal: Wow! So your imprints now have a different function!

Granddad: Only when you get the hang of it.

Hal: Shouldn’t be hard, I’m sure.

Granddad: And I’ll get the Swift Doers to help me out too.

Hal: What for?

Granddad: To make more of course! Every household will have one at least.

Hal: But, you know Swift Doers are very hard to convince. They always want it to be their way!

Granddad: Then we’ll just have to negotiate something, won’t we?

Peuge and Vaux enter. Vaux still sad.

Hal and Granddad gets up from machine.

Hal: Hey, you ok, bro?

Vaux nodded.

Peuge: Mondi’s been playing up again.

Vaux (cries): Yeah! And I’m thirsty and she didn’t let me get a chance to buy a drink! And the guy at The Corner kicked ME out!

Hal: Well you should have said. Mum bought plenty this morning.

Vaux: WHAT?! WHY DIDN’T YOU SAY SO?!!!

Peuge tries to calm Vaux again.

Peuge: Calm down, Vaux. Hal, why don’t you bring one over here?

Hal: Yeah, ok.

Hal walks away.

Granddad: I think I need one big drink too!

Granddad follows Hal.

Vaux sighs and sits on the seat of machine, away from buttons.
Peuge smiles sympathically sits down by Vaux and accidently presses the green button. The teleport machine disappears with Peuge and Vaux.

Vaux (as they vanish): Peuge, NO!

Another flash of Volco’s eyes flash on screen. This time they are open.

Hal and Granddad re-enter with three cups of hot drinks.

Hal: We're back!

Hal and Granddad's mouths drop to see the machine gone.

Chapter 3

Setting: Planet Earth. Small exterior car park of school.

Teleport Machine appears. Peuge and Vaux lost for words, looks around.
The cars’ alarm start to go off all at once. Peuge and Vaux jump off their seats and runs without thinking about the machine.
Peuge and Vaux stop when the sounds stop.

Peuge (sighs): Ahh finally the horrible sounds have stopped!

Vaux: Mmmm.

Vaux looks up and notices a human boy drinking from a fast food cup, walking past a big green grit bin. The boy drops the cup in bin.

Vaux: Huh? Is that a... DRINK!!

Vaux runs toward the bin.

Peuge (follows and shouts): Vaux don’t! You don’t know whether its safe!

Vaux: I don’t care! I just want a drink!

Vaux dives in and picks up drink from grit bin. Luckily cup still half full.

Vaux (rubbing grit from his face): YES!! I've finally got it!!

Vaux starts drinking.

Vaux: Ah! I feel better already.

Suddenly, Peuge and Vaux hear school bell ringing, then some human children laughing and chatting.
Peuge and Vaux watch from a distant.

Out of a crowd of school kids coming out of school, four of them come into focus. Three together (A boy and two girls) laughing at the sad Asian girl, Rani.
Peuge and Vaux listen and watch intensely.

Full view of Laughing Boy, Laughing Girl 1, Laughing Girl 2 and Rani.

Laughing Boy (to Rani): Hey Fantasy Girl! I wonder if ever your “Alien Detector” goes off, it’ll go “BEEP BEEP BANG!!”

Laughing Girl 1+2 (laughs): Yeah!

Rani sighs with head down and walks away. Laughing Boy, Laughing Girl 1+2 keep on laughing as they walk away in opposite direction.

Rani (thinking): I wish one day I could prove them wrong! My detector works! I just need to find an existing alien!

Rani looks up.

Rani: Huh?

Rani is startled to see Peuge and Vaux looking at her.

Rani (shouts at Peuge and Vaux without realising what they are): WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING AT?!!!

Peuge and Vaux look shocked.
Rani stops when a constant ‘beeping’ sound is heard. She looks down at her special watch, in which a light starts to flash.

Rani: My alien detector!! It works!!

Rani looks back up.

Rani: That means... THEY’RE REAL!!!

Peuge and Vaux scream in unison.

Rani smiles with open arms): WELCOME TO PLANET EARTH!!! I’m Rani.

Peuge and Vaux calms down.

Peuge: Well, I’m Peuge, and this is (pointing to Vaux) my cousin, Vaux.

Vaux: And we come from the Planet Vi-ackle.

Rani: Cool! So, how did you get here?

Vaux: Well, it’s a long story...

Peuge: Hey, they looked like they were giving you a hard time.

Rani (eyes lowered and sighs): As always. And it's not just them. (Bites lower lip and looks back up) They just don't want to know and I'm literally losing faith in myself too. Any ideas of what I should do now?

Peuge and Vaux look at each other confused and concerned.

Chapter 1

Setting: Planet Vi-ackle. Outside on the street in the neighbourhood near the house of Vaux and Hal’s family.

Granddad (frantically searches for the teleport machine and Peuge and Vaux): Vaux! Peuge! Where are you?!

Hal (follows him from behind): Granddad, please!

Granddad stops to look around.

Hal (Panting as he catches up): Boy looks like I need another drink!

Granddad: Well, go and get one!

Hal: What? And leave you looking for Vaux and Peuge? No, not possible.

Granddad: Then stop moaning, boy!

Mondi walks past on the other side of the road, carrying an animal equivalent to a poodle, and overhears Hal and Granddad’s conversation. She stops to see what going on.

Hal: It’s not just me, Granddad! At your age, you need to eat and drink more.

Granddad: I’m perfectly fine!

Hal and Granddad hear Mondi calling to them as she walks over to them.

Mondi: Hey Hal, Mr. Astro Senior! I sense a problem. Can I help? Has Vaux got anything to do with your argument?

Granddad: Yes, that Vi-ackling just decides to steal my latest invention and disappears with it! He doesn’t know how to use it yet!!!

Mondi: Calm down, sir, you have to take it slowly.

Granddad: Slowly?! That’s easy for you to say!!

Hal: Aye, you’re a Swift Doer, as if you do things “slowly”.

Mondi: Well, at least we have time to think.

Hal + Granddad (Gasp): Think?!

Mondi (smiles): The key to all success.

Granddad: What on Vi-ackle should I be thinking abo...

Granddad cuts himself off as remembers something.

Granddad (biting fingers): Oh no, it’s my fault! I didn’t deactivate the machine! (Buries face in hands) How could I be so stupid?!

Hal (Patting Granddad gently): Don’t worry, Granddad, you can make another one to find him.

Granddad (frantically looks back up at Hal): Another one?! In one day?!

Hal (smiling): Well, we have a Swift Doer in our hands. And you’ve got all the research and pictures done, Mondi will know exactly what to do in the nick of time.

Mondi gives a sly grin.

Chapter 2

Setting: Planet Earth, in school car park.

Full front on view of Teleport Machine, with Rani, Vaux and Peuge sitting on it.

Rani: So let me get this straight. You (pointing at Vaux) were really thirsty, so you ran to buy some drinks at your local corner shop, only to get pushed out.

Vaux: Yep, that’s right!

Rani: Then you (pointing at Peuge) came and took him home.

Peuge: Uh huh!

Rani: Then when you got home, you sat on this (patting the backrest of Teleport Machine) and accidently pressed a button, which brought you here.

Vaux: You can blame that on Peuge.

Peuge (argues): How was I supposed to know?

Vaux: You should have looked before you placed your hand on the arm!

Rani (laughs): Guys, calm down! At least you can go back home, right?

Vaux: Yeah, but we don’t know how!

Rani (gets up and starts looking around the Teleport Machine): There’s got to be a manual with it somewhere.

Peuge: Well, all that’s with Granddad.

Rani (surprised): And you don’t know anything about this?! Not even the basics?

Vaux (gets up on knees on his seat and leans against back rest. Eyes follow Rani): Well, Granddad has never explained it to us!

Peuge: Aye! He promised us that he will, once it’s completed. He could have done it today!

Rani (crossing arms): Well, you guys are in a lot of trouble!

Silence pause.

Peuge looks down at Vaux’s right hand, palm down where a faint glowing light is seen.

Peuge (picking up and turning Vaux’s right hand): Hey, look at this!

Vaux (excited): Wow! The imprint of my hand’s glowing again!

Rani (looks down at Peuge’s right hand): Looks like yours is glowing too, Peuge!

Peuge (looking at his hand): Wow! This calls for a celebration!

Vaux: Yeah, a new function is found and our power isn’t going to die out now!!

Suddenly voices of two mad young boys gets Rani’s, Vaux’s and Peuge’s attention. They panic as the boys come closer.

Mad Boy 1 (looking at Rani): Wow, sis, that’s one awesome chair!

Rani (stammers turning to Vaux and Peuge for help): Er... Yeah.

Mad Boy 2 (looking at Teleport Machine): Yeah, look at those lights! (Walks over and touches one light) This must be worth a fortune!

Rani: Er... Guys, this isn’t for sale.

Vaux (shouts and steps forward): Yeah! And...

Mad Boy 1 (follows Mad Boy 2): And look at these buttons.

Vaux gets confused and worried. Then looks back at his hand and anxiety takes over as the glowing imprint on his hand starts flickering.

Peuge turns concerned as he looks at imprint on his hand which flickers too. But tries to help anyway.

Peuge (steps forward): I wouldn’t...

Mad Boy 2 (looks up at Rani): Does this thing work?

Rani (nods): But it’s only handled by professionals!

Mad Boy 1: What, like you?

Mad Boy 1 and Mad Boy 2 laugh as they make themselves comfortable on the seats of Teleport Machine.

Peuge: Please gentle earthlings, don’t get too comforta...

Mad Boy 2: Hey what’s this yellow button do?

Before anyone can say anything Mad Boy 2 presses yellow button and keyboard pops out.

Mad Boy 1: Awesome!

Rani: Ok guys, I think you need to get off and go.

Mad Boy 1: Nah way, sister! This is one gadget that cannot be tested before selling!

Mad Boy 1 eagerly types something on the keyboard.

Rani (panics): But it does work, and it’s not for sa...

Mad Boy 2 presses green button and Teleport Machine disappears.

Volco’s eyes flash on screen again, with a sly grin and a faint evil laugh.

Back at the car park...

Vaux (stunned): Wow! They were as bad as Volco!

Rani: Who’s Volco?

Peuge: A Vi-ackling who’s been banished.

Rani notices Peuge and Vaux’s hand start to glowing brightly again.

Rani: Look, your hand!

Peuge (looks at hand, confused/thrilled): It’s glowing again!

Vaux (breaks out, waving arms and jumps): NEVER MIND THAT!! WE’RE DOOMED!!! GRANDDAD’LL KILL US!! WAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!

Peuge (puts hand on Vaux’s shoulder): Calm down, Vaux. It’s going to be ok.

Rani (nods in agreement): Why don’t you both come to my place and I’ll give you something warm to put you at ease.

Peuge: Thanks Rani.

Rani notices the cup in Vaux’a hand and takes it from him.

Rani: I can give a proper fresh drink too.

Vaux (smiles through tears): Thank you.

Rani: And a good clean up.

Chapter 3

Setting: On a main road on Planet Earth.

Long shot of Rani, Peuge and Vaux walking on footpath.
Cars passing by every so often.

Vaux (jumps after a fast car goes by): Woah, what was that?

Rani giggles unnoticeably.

Peuge: Aye, it looked like the ones we saw earlier. But they weren’t moving.

Rani (giggles again): That was a car, one form of transport.

Vaux: Wow! We haven’t got anything like that on our planet.

Rani (surprised): Really? How do you go places?

Vaux: Well, we walk...

Peuge (top half pretending to run): And we run.

Rani (Eyes lowered): I mean if you wanna go long distances in short spaces of time.

Vaux (Grins with offering hand): Why don’t you come with us.

Rani: Ok.

Vaux (turns round, back facing Rani and bends forward): Hop on then!

Rani: What?

Vaux: Hop on my back.

Peuge: Don’t worry Rani, it’s perfectly safe.

Rani (still hesitant, climbs on Vaux’s back): Ok.

Then in an instant, Vaux “whooshes” off as fast as a car goes and on to the streets.

Rani (laughs): This is fun!

Moments later, Peuge joins them.
Another long shot from another human’s point of view is taken from the other side of the road, where Rani seems to be hovering in a strange position and moving forward as fast as a car.
Back to audience view with Vaux, Rani and Peuge in full view.

Vaux: Ok, Rani, navigate us to your home.

Rani (still giggling): Ok!

Chapter 4

Setting: Rani’s family home.

Rani, Vaux and Peuge enter the house.
Rani’s mother greets her as she comes out from the kitchen with folded up washing from the washing machine, ready to be dried.

Rani’s mother: Hey, sweety, everything go well at school today?

Rani: Yeah, it was great!

Rani’s mother (continues to go upstairs): That’s good dear.

Rani (shrugs): Oh well. (Turns to Peuge and Vaux) Make yourselves at home and I’ll right back.

As Rani goes into the kitchen to prepare some snacks, Peuge and Vaux step into the living room and sit themselves down on a two-seater sofa, only to find themselves sitting face to face with Rani’s father reading the evening newspaper with a cup of tea.

Peuge: Er... Hello Sir. How are you?

No response from Rani’s father.

Vaux: Hello, anybody home?

Still no response.
Vaux and Peuge exchange expressions of confusion.
Peuge gets up and as he waves his right hand in front of Rani’s father’s face, he notices the glow of the imprint stops all together.
Then a few seconds later, the imprint starts flickering again as Rani enters living room with a tray of refreshments and a wet towel.

Rani (handing red towel to Vaux): Here, you clean yourself up with this.

Vaux (taking wet towel and starts wiping his face): Thanks.

Rani: I wasn’t sure what may suit your stomachs so I brought in an assortment.

Rani puts tray on centre table.

Rani’s father (behind the paper): Thank you my dear, but I think this cup of tea is enough for me.

Vaux all cleaned up puts dirty wet towel on the arm of the sofa, dives in and takes a biscuit.

Rani (giggles): Oh papa, I know that. This is for my new friends who came home with me today.

Rani’s father (Puts paper down): Really? Where are they?

Rani: They’re here. (pats Vaux on shoulder) This is Vaux and Peuge is standing next to you.

Rani’s father: Darling, I thought we already had this conversation. No more fantasy into reality stuff. You’re 15 years old now, time you put this in the past.

Rani: But it’s true! Look they’re right in front of you!

Rani’s father: Rani...

Rani: Even my Alien Detector proved it!

Rani’s father: Rani, there are no such things as aliens!!

Rani (cries): Yes, there is!!! Why won’t you believe in it?!!!

Rani, runs out and slams front door as her mother comes down.

Peuge and Vaux look at each other as Rani’s father sighs, lifting paper back.
Peuge looks down at his hand again. The flickering stops and glow disappears again.
Rani’s mother (enters living room): Rani upset again?

Rani’s father (nods behind paper): Hmmmm.

Rani’s mother walks back into kitchen and Rani’s father continues reading newspaper and finishes his tea.
Peuge and Vaux quietly walks out of house without anyone noticing the door being opened and shut.

Chapter 5

Setting: Back on Vi-ackle, in the lab of Vaux and Hal’s family home.

Hal (drinking from cup): Looks like it’s nearly done!

Mondi (working at the back of the new teleport machine, with instructions in one hand): Yep, almost finished!

Mondi’s Vi-Poodle sniffing around beside her.

Granddad (enters with mug in hand): That is wonderful me dear!

Georothy (little sister of Peuge) comes hoping in after knocking the door.

Georothy: Hey, guys!

Hal (turns to face Georothy): Hey Georothy.

Georothy: You seen Peuge?

Hal: Yeah he and Vaux have gone out of this world!

Georothy: Meaning?

Granddad (slightly frantic): It means they’ve took my teleport machine and disappeared!

Georothy (still calm): You mean it works? Wow! Where did they go?

Granddad + Hal: Earth.

Georothy: Awsome!

Hal (concerned): Why are you such an easy goer?

Georothy: Because it's in my blood and I know Peuge and Vaux will be perfectly fine. They’re big boys, they can look after themselves.

Hal and Granddad exchange looks of confusion.

Georothy (going out again): Anyway, when you see Peuge, tell him mum’s made his favourite for supper.

Hal: Ok.

Georothy goes out of scene.

Mondi (stands up with a sigh of relief): There, all done!

Hal (turns to Mondi): Cool!

Granddad: Come on then, let’s go!

Hal and Granddad puts mug and cup on a tool box and sits down on the seats of teleport machine.
Granddad switches machine on.

Mondi (picks up her Vi-Poodle): Can I come too?

Granddad (presses yellow button and types destination on keyboard): You must be tired, my dear, so I suggest you go home and have a rest. (Looks up at Mondi) You have done what you had to do, and I am very grateful. You deserve a good rest.

Mondi: What are you talking about, Mr. Astro Sr.! I’m a Swift Doer, not a Slow Worker or a Guzzler!

Hal (Angry): Hey!

Mondi: Sorry, no offence.

Hal (crossing arms and rolls eyes): None taken.

Mondi: All I’m saying, is that I don’t need a rest, I’ll fine!

Granddad (sighs): Ok.

Mondi happily sits down in the middle. Vi-Poodle on lap.

Hal (mumbles to Mondi): You really had the guts to say that didn’t you. Swift Doers never ‘think’ about other Vi-acklings, or what they say!

Mondi: Hal, I’m sorry ok? Besides you’re the one who brought me here to help your granddad.

Granddad: Actually Mondi, it was my idea.

Hal (sighs, shaking head): I warned you though.

Granddad (Smiles): No harm done.

Granddad presses yellow button, keyboard goes back in.
Granddad presses green button. Teleport Machine disappears.

Chapter 6

Setting: Back on Planet Earth. Outside in Rani’s neighbourhood.

Vaux (calling with hand around mouth): Rani! Where you?

Peuge follows looking at his hand. Imprint still not glowing.

Vaux: Rani! (Turns to Peuge) Hey, why are you not helping me to find her?

Peuge: I am.

Vaux: What, by looking at your hand?

Peuge: Exactly!

Vaux laughs.

Peuge: I’m serious!

Vaux looks at Peuge with one raised eyebrow.

Peuge (sighs): Look, if you haven’t noticed our imprints seem to glow when an Earthling who believes in us is present. It flickers when both a non-believer and a believer is present.

Vaux: And doesn’t glow when just a non-believer is present?

Peuge (nods): That’s right! And it’s the believers that can see and hear us.

Vaux: That explains why the Mad Boys and Rani’s Parents didn’t notice us.

Peuge: Yep.

Peuge looks back at his hand. Imprint starts flickering.

Peuge: We’re getting close now.

Vaux (concerned, looking at his flickering imprint): Ok, what if who we find isn’t Rani?

Peuge (smiles): I doubt it very much, cous. You could tell by her face that she’s the only one thriving here to have her beliefs understood.

Vaux (smiles with fascination): Wow!

A sad figure leaning against a wall appears.
The imprints start glowing brightly again as it appears to be Rani.

Vaux (runs to Rani, eyes lit up): Hey Rani! You’re ok.

Rani (sniff and dries tears): Yeah, why wouldn’t I be?

Peuge: You look like you’ve been crying.

Rani: What else would you do if you have no one who understands you?

Vaux (mumbles): You got that right.

Peuge elbows Vaux.

Vaux: Oi!

A sudden wind comes from nowhere.
Rani’s Alien Detector goes off again as another Teleport Machine with Mondi, Hal and Granddad appears.
Mondi’s Vi-Poodle jumps off and lands on Rani’s feet.

Mondi (shouts): Mini!

Rani (Bends down, pat’s the Vi-Poodle): Hey there!

Granddad (gets up, mumbles): They come here, by accident and befriends with an Earthling already (puffs).

Vaux (excited): Hal! Granddad! You found us!

Granddad: Yes, and now you are coming back. (Tugs on Vaux’s arm).

Hal: Where’s the other Teleport Machine?

Peuge: Er... Well, it got stolen.

Granddad (freaks out): Stolen?! How can it be stolen? You should have used the power of your hand to make it visible only to you!

Peuge: Really how?

Granddad: Like this...

Granddad just about to demonstrate when he notices his imprint was already glowing.

Granddad: How is this possible?

Peuge: That would be the power of Rani.

Granddad (turns to face everyone): Rani? Who’s Rani?

Rani (steps forward to greet Granddad): I am.

Granddad (surprised and confused): So our imprints glow for a different cause?!

Vaux: Cool huh?

Peuge: But at the moment it only works when Rani is present.

Vaux: She believes in us, you know.

Mondi narrows eyes on Rani.

Mondi (pushing Rani aside): Step aside Earthling, you’re not going anywhere near my Vaux.

Rani falls to the ground.

Mondi (putting arms around Vaux’s shoulders): Come on, Vaux. Let’s find that Teleport Machine and take you home.

Vaux (goes red in cheeks, takes Mondi’s arms off his shoulder): Er... Sorry, but even if we do find the Teleport Machine, I’m not going back.

Mondi, Hal + Granddad (wide eyes): What?!

Vaux (walks over to Rani, aids her back up): Rani’s our only hope now. Without her help, our strengths would one day disappear, and our planet would be in jeopardy.

Mondi (crossing arms and narrows eyes again): Trust an Earthling Maiden to be the one who believes.

Peuge (walking to Rani and Vaux’s side): He’s right. And if we can help Rani, she can help us.

Deep Sinister Voice: How very intriguing!

Mondi, Hal, Granddad, Peuge, Vaux and Rani turn with wide eyes of shock and worry.
They see a tall yellow-green Vi-ackling, sitting on the ‘stolen’ Teleport Machine, grinning at them.

Mondi, Hal, Granddad, Peuge + Vaux (Gasp): Volco!
